Other stuff going on.  Some good.  Some bad.

Taking Blood From a Stone

I owe $3000.00 in taxes this year.  How’s that for your sunny disposition?!?

I’m gonna go kick something now.  I’ll let you know if it makes me feel better.

go ahead, hog the covers, its okay

I’m on my way into work when I hear a cover of The Bee Gees “How Deep Is Your Love”; and it instantly put me in a good mood.

It got me to think that I enjoy covers of Bee Gees songs better then The Bee Gees themselves.

How ironic is that?!?  Those guys sure knew how to craft a song!!

Home is where the booty is….

I’m sitting in one of my favorite places to eat in all the world, but I’m sad because I miss my Mo.

I’ve had 6 hours of sleep the past two days, but I still miss her.

I enjoy being away from my office but I miss being away from home.

A Star is born!

I’m dealing with two distinct moods right not; happy and contemplative.

Since the happy happened first, you’re gonna get an earful of that.

Sometime this morning, i decided that Mo and I needed to head out to visit WallyWorld and Sam’s Club to get some stuff that was in low supply around the house.  We were still in our Jammies, so I said to Mo, “you need to go potty and then get dressed”.

The bathroom is across the hall from my office so I was chatting with MG via Instant Messenger when I hear Mo sining from the bathroom at the top of her lungs…

“MY BUTT IS REALLY BIG!!”

I was trying my best not to crack up laughing because this kid was making a real operatic song out of it.

“My butt is really big,
yes really, really big.
My jammies are off, and on the floor,
but my butt is realllllly reallllly big !!!!"(dramatic finish and all).

Where the heck does she get this stuff?!?  I mean, it was funny, but her musicality was through the roof.  It’s amazing that she can use her imagination in such a wonderful manner.  I could help but not sing that song for the rest of the day.  Thanks Mo!!!

White as a ghost.

I can’t believe that it’s been two weeks since I’ve last posted something.  Geeesh.

Sorry about that people.  I guess that one thing leads to another and well, two weeks go by.

I’ve been running short on time with being in Pittsburgh and all over the countryside..

Anyway, let’s see.  I guess the one bit of accomplishment was finally getting my haircut tonight.  During said haircut, I noticed something.  I don’t have gray hair.  I have WHITE hair.  What the heck?  Before anyone (MY DAD) makes any cracks about getting old, I thought that I would get gray first and then white.  I guess I’m cutting in line and moving right on through.

I found a way around all this.  Keep my hair as short as possible.  That way, the hairs are so short you can’t tell the difference.

WooHoo!  Problem solved.

It’s that time of year again!!

Today is MG’s birthday.  Go on over and wish her a happy birthday.  Mo says if you don’t she’ll get the hissing monkeys after you.  (don’t ask)

I think I’ve gone re-cap happy…

It’s Tuesday morning.  Do you know where your brain is?

Let’s see, since we last spoke (can we call it that? Of course we can.  It’s my friggen page!!) the following has occurred.

  • Valentine’s Day Dinner with two lovely ladies - couldn’t go ice skating because of the recent weather..bummer
  • 3 Hockey Games
  • 1 Charity Hockey game
  • A Mascot Olympics complete with cheerleaders and a giant pig who needed CPR

Whew Doggie!  It was great to come back to the office so I could take a nap.  UGH.  I guess that’s the only good thing about work.

HUGE shout outs go to JerseyGirl for being quite the good sport this weekend.  She came down to share her holiday break with me only to land smack dab in the middle of one of the busiest weekends that I’ve had in awhile.  Thank you!!

Now, If I make it through tomorrow we’ll be in good shape..

From the left to the right

Oh, what a day off can do for you.

I can’t recall in the longest time a day that was spent in my jammies where I could get stuff done.

Mo and I spent a day lounging, playing and just doing stuff around the house.  I still can’t believe that it was even a possibility.

During the course of the day the following happened.

  • We played Monkey and Lion go to school
  • Ate breakfast
  • Watched TV
  • Read books
  • Got 99% of the laundry done
  • Unloaded and loaded the dishwasher
  • Made butterscotch pudding
  • Installed 2 shelves in the basement
  • Played hockey (complete with introductions through “the lions head")
  • Spilled half the pudding on the floor
  • Swept and scrubbed the entire kitchen floor
  • Switched the way the fridge opened (I had no idea that took so long.. UGH)
  • Made lunch and dinner (The child ate FOUR waffles!!  zOMG
  • Vacuumed the living room
  • Put all the laundry away
  • Read more stories

Wow!  What a day!!  And all that was before 8:30.  Put the Mo-Meister to bed and spent the rest of the evening on the phone.  Whew!!
