I’ve come on here many times in the past and said that “I’m really digging this band” and that “they’re really good”. This group(artist), Hello Saferide, is not only good, they’ve been practically the only thing I’ve been listening to for the past month.
I’m hooked and the melodies and lyrics are fantastic.
I could go into everything, but I’m gonna sum it up to say that this year will be a year of learning and growth.
2008 wrapped up with me making some major decisions to better the life of me and my daughter. 2009 will continue on that trend. Good things will happen. Good things indeed..
William Shatner has made his recent career as being the pitch man for Priceline.com. The latest campaign is the Priceline Negotiator. If you all thought that Shatner is the negotiator, think again. MG and I have discovered that Mo has developed quite a skillset herself.
Here are a few examples for your reading pleasure. Please put down your liquid beverage. I shall not be held accountable for any beverages spilled or spit during the ensuing words.
Daddy: Mo, drink your drink.
Mo: Daddy, how about I drink this much?
Daddy: Mo, can you move your stool?
Mo: Daddy, I’m gonna move it over to here. Okay?
Daddy: Mo, get dressed.
Mo: Daddy, I’ll wear these shoes, but I don’t want to wear socks. I want to show off my toenails.
Daddy, Mo, what is your sunshine for today?
Mo: If you paint my toenails, that will be my sunshine for today.
*hits head over and over and over*
I tried to blame this trait on her mother, but she replied. “I don’t negotiate, I argue.” Well, I guess she must get it from me.
So, if you are worried that my child will be lost in the career jungle some day, have no fear. She is well equipped.
There is a lot of hate in this world, especially during this Election year. You hear very mean and hateful rhetoric coming from both sides. Now is a time where we need a person like Fred Rogers to find the better in all of us. To make us feel good rather than letting other people tear us apart.
I for one miss Fred Rogers. If you have ever read anything about him you know about the heart and wisdom I speak of.
No matter our intentions, we are bound to let someone down. We are destined as humans to make mistakes big and small.
This is not saying we get a free pass for what we do. We must learn and grow from these mistakes in order to become better and achieve new and greater results.
It is impossible to shield ourselves from people who will make mistakes or will let us down. We need those people in our lives. They test our resolve, they teach us to forgive. They teach us to understand outside our own realm of reasoning. Yes, what they do is hurtful, but they teach us the power of forgiveness.
Jesus surrounded himself with people that society never wanted in “their circle”. They were cast out because they offended or broke the rules. Jesus felt that it was more important to be a relative example to those people than to feel he that was better then them and therefore cast them out like they had been so many times before. Jesus was the only one without sin. He could have cast the first stone but he didn’t. He created change in the lives of others because he was able to bring out the good in people. His undying forgiveness was the true example.
There are people out there that sit in their walled fortress passing judgement and only allowed people of like minds to share their company. These people claim to share like minds with Jesus and claim to do his will. Caesar only surrounded himself with people that soley agreed with him. Look where that got him.
